I found Vvinni's explanation of this piece of mailart on his blog, and it helped me to appreciate it better. I've pasted his words below:
It being December, I decided to use “Christmas” as a jumping off point, and for me “Christmas” means Commercialism and over-sweetening. So, I coated a notecard in receipts, then glazed it in honey and baked it in an oven. This is what it ended up looking like!
Vvinni's site is mainly about film-making. I think the card he sent to you was only his second attempt at mailart. His first attempt is posted on my mailart gallery blog.
You may send your interpretation of comic characters, funny animals, femmes fatales and assorted creatures. Sent and received mail art will be posted here.
